Karlu Rambhala

Chief Executive Officer

Karlu Rambhala founded Avineon in 1992 and serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). As the company’s top executive, Karlu oversees all of Avineon’s divisions and strategically guides the company as it delivers sophisticated information technology (IT) systems and solutions to U.S. government and commercial clients.

Karlu’s experience spans more than 35 years in the technology sector with significant expertise in a wide range of computer aided engineering, database management, and software engineering environments. Under Karlu’s leadership, Avineon has grown from a small start up to a global enterprise with subsidiaries in Canada, Belgium, France, India, Netherlands, UK, and United Arab Emirates and more than 800 employees worldwide. Prior to founding Avineon, Karlu worked in various technical and management positions in the manufacturing and defense industries.

Karlu earned undergraduate degrees in Marine Engineering and Mathematics / Physics. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Engineering from the University of Michigan where he also completed the Executive Program at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

Anand Subramani


As President, Anand Subramani is responsible for the overall performance and growth of Avineon’s operations while developing strategies to build on Avineon’s core competencies. His specific responsibilities include business execution across Avineon’s global footprint.

Anand brings nearly two decades of experience to his position across information technology and management consulting. Prior to Avineon, he has served in various industries including retail, health care, and insurance as well as government agencies including the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Navy.

Anand holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business in College Park and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia University in New York.

Heesun Robertson

Chief Operating Officer/Senior Vice President, Program Operations, U.S. Federal

Heesun Robertson serves as Chief Operating Officer/Senior Vice President, Program Operations, U.S. Federal. She has management responsibility across Avineon’s government operations, to include serving as the executive sponsor for Avineon’s continuous software process improvement initiatives, including the Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI), an internationally accepted standard for process improvement.

Heesun received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, and Information Technology. Heesun also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The George Washington University.

David McGill

Vice President, Growth Operations, U.S. Federal

David McGill is Avineon’s Vice President, Growth Operations, U.S. Federal. In this role, he leads all aspects of business development, capture, proposal, and sales for Avineon’s U.S. Federal business unit. An accomplished executive with 30 years of experience providing management consulting and technology solutions, David’s leadership expertise is building high performing growth organizations focused on creating opportunity and client success.

Prior to joining Avineon, David held similar executive positions with leading large multi-national and mid-tier information technology and consulting companies and is active in a number of industry trade associations. David holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota with a major in Business and a minor in Economics.

Joel Campbell

Senior Vice President, Commercial Systems

As Senior Vice President, Commercial Systems, Joel Campbell is responsible for all division strategy and services provided to commercial, state, and local government customers, including geospatial and engineering support services. In addition, he is also responsible for the oversight and daily operations of Avineon’s offices in Saint Petersburg, Florida and Traverse City, Michigan.

Joel has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of business development and executive management. Prior to joining Avineon, he was a principal and owner of a consulting firm dedicated to helping businesses succeed within the geospatial industry. Joel has also served as president and CEO of a global provider of remote sensing software, U.S. sales director for a major geographic information systems (GIS) software provider, and other senior management positions within the industry.

Joel has been a feature speaker, lecturer, and trainer for GIS organizations around the world. Additionally, he has published many articles on geospatial trends and opportunities as well as co-authoring a chapter in The Manual of Geospatial Science and Technology.

Joel earned a Graduate Certificate in Executive Management from Cornell University and studied broadcast communications at the University of Maryland. Joel spent 10 years in various positions in the commercial television industry before beginning his career in GIS and information technology.

Peter van Es

CEO and Managing Director, Avineon Europe Ltd.

As CEO and Managing Director of Avineon’s European subsidiary, Avineon Europe Ltd., Peter van Es is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and technical functions of Avineon’s European operations and facilities in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Benelux. His specific responsibilities include finance, business development, human resource development, and general administration.

Peter brings 30 years of experience to his position, including over 15 years in executive-level management. Prior to Avineon, he held several sales, marketing and management positions including chief commercial officer for a large provider of navigation data.

Peter holds a Civil Engineering degree from Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Limburg University in Belgium. He speaks Flemish, Dutch, English, French, and German.

Raghu Ganeshan

President, Avineon India

Raghu Ganeshan serves as President of Avineon India Private Limited (AIPL), the India-based subsidiary of Avineon, Inc. He leads the company’s strategic growth initiatives across India, MEA, SEA, and ANZ regions. In addition, he holds direct responsibility for Avineon’s global center for operational excellence in Hyderabad, India for engineering support services, geospatial, and IT services.

Since joining Avineon in 1999, he has held a number of top management roles within the company’s operations in the United States and India. He has been focusing on high value consulting and multi-disciplinary engineering design projects and has played a key role in excelling the company’s geospatial, IT, and engineering support services up in the value chain.

Raghu holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Ed Morris

Chief Financial Officer

Ed Morris is a seasoned financial executive with an extensive background in finance, accounting, business and strategic planning as well as internal audit across Fortune 100 companies, start-ups, early stage ventures, and privately held middle market companies. As Chief Financial Officer, Ed works strategically with our executive leadership on overall directional issues and financial affairs.

His previous experience includes 14 years in Fortune 500 companies including extensive international financial and accounting experience in consumer package manufacturing, oilfield service, and insurance. Other career highlights includes independent contracted work with four years in global communications and two years on Wall Street as a Managing Director.

Ed is a graduate of Thunderbird - The American Graduate School of International Management, with an MBA in International Finance.

Chad Davis

Vice President/General Counsel

As Vice President/General Counsel, Chad Davis supports Avineon’s operations worldwide on contractual, compliance, and related legal matters. He has over 18 years of experience with Avineon and more than 26 years of work in corporate transactional law.

Chad holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Eckerd College and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kentucky.
