Vodcast Esri Utility Network Management

4 October 2021

Tune in for our Vodcast on "Esri Utility Network Implementation" to discover the benefits of implementing the Esri Utility Network Management Solution and learn how Avineon can help you in this process. During this session, Mr. Raghu Ganeshan, President of Avineon India, Mr. Ramana Reddy, Sr. Vice President, Consulting & Technical Solutions, and Mr. Pramod Karnawat, Vice President, Business Development - Geospatial & IT, will share their experience and expertise in the specific area of "Spatial Intelligence", and "Esri Utility Network Management" more specifically.

With GIS becoming an integral part of enterprise business systems, Esri has developed the Utility Network Management (UNM), a model capable of modeling most of the utility network features close to the real world in a consistent and open database structure. In addition, the UNM also holds a set of geoprocessing tools, APIs, and cross-platform scripting to facilitate network tracing, asset analysis, and an easier exchange of information between GIS and enterprise systems. The UN model also enables utilities that hold multi-domain services to have one enterprise GIS database, instead of the current typical practice of having one per domain.

Many utilities, especially in the electric and water domain, have been approaching Avineon to understand how they can adopt this new technology. Avineon has been one of the Early Adopter Program Participants for Utility Network Management. We have tested UN beta models on multiple customer data migration POC's and provided our feedback to the Esri product team. We have achieved the Utility Network Management Specialty status in 2019.

Avineon has developed a migration approach and state-of-the-art framework tools, offered as Accelerators, that help utilities better understand their GIS database and application dependencies, so that UN implementations can be designed, implemented, and managed without impacting the day-to-day business too much.
