Business Analyst

Description

Avineon is seeking a candidate to support the business analysis functions for a Department of Defense agency. The candidate will perform work that involves the planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the enterprise structural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the agency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with functional business units to identify business needs that can be supported through information technology solutions.
  • Articulates business needs through skilled analysis of enterprise business requirements, end-to-end business processes, communication across integrated teams, and facilitation of translating business needs into viable solutions.
  • Supports business process reengineering efforts.
  • Documents and evaluates data requirements and information sharing needs.
  • Collects and analyzes system requirements to formulate and design system specifications for both new and existing information systems. Determines capability gaps between the current and target systems and develops plans for transitioning to enterprise or consolidated information systems.
  • Designs the transition from current information technology and information systems environments to intended target architectures.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be able to obtain Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or equivalent
  • DOD IAT 2 certification or higher is a plus but not required (CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP)
  • Analysis and design
  • Strong technical writing
  • Facilitation skills and presentation skills
  • Experience developing methods and techniques for modeling technologies
  • Experience with modeling and graphical representations and abstractions
  • Experience with EAM Tools (Sparx EA or similar) is a plus
