Faster licensing for 5G antennas

Brussels Environment is responsible for assessing permit applications for new 5G antennas in the Capital Region. When assessing a new application, the radiation impact on surrounding areas within a 400-metre radius is calculated. The maximum 5G radiation to which local residents may be exposed is set by law.

5G antennas are mostly placed on flat roofs of office buildings. Bruxelles Environnement tests the impact of 5G radiation on the surrounding environment based on the geometry of the surrounding roofs. The area under the roof is usually closest to the application site. Avineon modelled the roofs in Brussels in 3D to simplify the calculation of the radiation impact.

In this case study, you can read more about the 3D project that Avineon carried out on behalf of Paradigm for Bruxelles Environnement.
