Business Process Management
In today’s environment, the Defense and Homeland Security Departments are finding themselves needing to digest increasingly more information and deal with more complex business processes, often with less people. Avineon is in the forefront in providing Business Process Modeling (BPM) solutions to defense clients that will help them more efficiently and effectively meet their missions. Avineon has the experience and capability to engineer a BPM solution through all phases, and specifically is performing each of these tasks in a current effort for the Naval Sea Systems Command Weapon Systems Certification Process.
Documenting the business process – Avineon has subject matter experts and experienced business analysts with a wealth of experience in DoD programs that can clearly understand and document an existing business process, or validate one that is already documented.
Improving the process – Through a combination of technical understanding of potential solutions, a business understanding of the process and perhaps the benefit of lean or six-sigma efforts with the customer, Avineon will document the business process in the manner it will be implemented in the Business Process Model.
Architecting the Solution – Avineon has system architects that will design the system architecture, including selection of BPM tools, identifying hardware requirements, interface requirements and planning for any unique installation or security requirements.
Developing and Documenting the System Requirements – As a CMMI Maturity Level 3 software developer, Avineon takes pride in preparing very detailed and accurate system requirements. This ensures that the client has the means to understand and influence the solution before it is developed, and ensures that the development team has clear guidance in what to build.
Iterative Development – Avineon uses the Rational Unified Process TM for software development, in which the most significant risks and technical complexity are addressed in the earliest iterations. This practice as well as other mature development processes has contributed to Avineon’s 100% success rate for all software development efforts.
Avineon replicates the target environment for both development and test to ensure that the installation and integration goes as smoothly as possible. Avineon has experience in building and installing applications in the Navy Data Environment (NDE) which is maintained under the authority of Naval Sea Systems Command and uses security and integration protocols that are typical of official DoD data environments.
To offer a complete BPM service to DoD clients, a company must have subject matter experts that have in depth understanding of DoD business processes, expert development staff and mature processes as a basis for developing software of any complexity, and experience in developing applications to be installed in unique DoD information environments. Avineon is uniquely qualified to deliver all of the above
