Avineon’s CMMI Maturity Level 3 set of standard processes will be tailored to the customer’s needs and aligned with their internal processes to ensure that all work in support of the project is properly managed and controlled. Avineon Project Managers use the project management principles outlined in the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) “Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge” (PMBOK Guide).
Avineon’s project management approach has four focal points
Project Management is people focused. Systems development is very “people-centric” and depends heavily on the skill set and management of work among people. Many of the project management tasks revolve around people and are focused mainly on the project team. Avineon encourages and rewards project managers who become PMI certified Project Management Professionals (PMP).
Project Management is product focused. Systems cannot be planned nor produced if the objectives and scope of the system are not clearly understood. The Project Manager’s responsibility is to ensure that objectives are properly set for the project and that progress toward these is objectives is monitored and controlled. This involves continual communication with project stakeholders and the project team to ensure a mutual understanding of project goals, work, and status.
Project Management is process focused. Avineon Project Managers fully understand the process of systems development. Project managers are fully educated in systems development and project management processes and have the capability to drive the processes. These processes and their supporting tools provide the common roadmap, understood and used by the project team with the Project Manager acting as navigator.
Project Management is project focused. The project manager manages the project life cycle itself, initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing the project.
