Avineon Awarded Enterprise IT Contract with U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command
Five-year IT services contract with the Office of the Command Information Officer valued at $29 million
Alexandria, Va. – August 12, 2009 – Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering, and program management solutions, today announced the company has been awarded an IT services contract with the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Office of the Command Information Officer (OCIO). Under the contract, Avineon will provide on-going technical support and management oversight of MCSC OCIO IT operations required to maintain operational levels as the MCSC experiences expected growth. The five-year contract has an estimated value of $29 million.

Avineon’s initial tasks under the contract include project management, service desk, development services, information assurance, and data center management, which will support the U.S. Marine Corps’ acquisition activities. Avineon, independently assessed at Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3, will apply its streamlined and structured processes to improve the interoperability, maintainability, and efficiency of the OCIO’s software infrastructure and drive down long-term operation costs. The company will also provide regular review of processes and procedures throughout the term of the contract.
