Avineon to Showcase Mapping Project at Harris GCSD Engineering Week
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – February 12, 2009 – Avineon, Inc. (www.avineon.com), a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, has announced the company will be showcasing a project at the 2009 Harris GCSD Engineering Week in Palm Bay, Florida on February 17. The event recognizes engineers and scientists within Broadcast Communications, Defense Communications, RF Communications, and Government Communications Systems.
Based on the successful completion of the MAF/TIGER accuracy improvement project, Avineon was selected to showcase its work on the Indian River Lagoon (IRL) Seagrass Mapping and Trend Analysis project for the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD). Throughout the duration of the project, Avineon performed many tasks including field reconnaissance, GPS ground control surveys, compilation of a photo interpretation key, photo interpretation of seagrass, algae and un-vegetated bottom as well as the shoreline. To manage the tasks, the company utilized soft-copy digital stereoplotters, ArcGIS data migration and positional and classification accuracy assessment of the resultant data.
