Avineon Wins IRS Contract to Develop Application for Managing Business Taxpayer Filings
Company to develop software, architecture for BMF CCNIP through $1.4 million contract
Alexandria, Va. – March 19, 2008 – Avineon, Inc. (www.avineon.com), a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, today announced it has been awarded a contract with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to develop an application to streamline the process of identifying business taxpayers who fail to file required returns. Avineon will develop the software and architecture for the Business Master File Case Creation Nonfiler Identification Process (BMF CCNIP); this includes application design, development, testing and implementation support services. The one-year cost plus fixed fee contract has an estimated value of more than $1.4 million.
“We selected Avineon for the project as they have proven through previous TIPSS-3 task orders that they are well equipped and have the expertise and understanding to meet the needs of agencies within the Department of Treasury”, stated Barbara Sandstrom, Project Manager, BMF CCNIP of the IRS.
The IRS’ existing business filer Return Delinquency Program provides a method for creating cases when a tax return is not filed by the program completion date. The BMF CCNIP project will implement a case creation and selection process for business taxpayers who fail to file required returns. This process will use non-filer data from BMF as well as reference data from other sources to deliver systemic inventory selection features.
Karlu Rambhala, president and CEO of Avineon, stated, “We are pleased to be awarded another task order with the IRS. Avineon’s contract history with the agency is a testament to our commitment and capabilities in providing superior services and support to the federal market.”
