Avineon Expands Defense Business Development with Appointment of Director to Lead Midwest Region
Alexandria, Va. – March 26, 2007 – Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, announced today the appointment of Cary Bledsoe as director, Midwest region within the company’s Defense Systems division. Bledsoe will lead efforts in support of Avineon’s defense contracts and assist with business development in the Midwest area. With more than 21 years of government engineering experience, Bledsoe brings to Avineon technical expertise and leadership qualities having overseen multiple Navy and Marine Corps programs.

Prior to joining Avineon, Bledsoe was stationed in Indiana at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division where he spent ten years serving in various supervisory and project management roles. While there, Bledsoe oversaw the engineering efforts for the Marine Corps Ground Based Air Defense Systems and also served as the branch supervisor for the Open Systems Engineering Branch, leading Crane’s efforts on implementation of Navy open architecture standards. Additional responsibilities included managing the Surface Navy Multi-Sensors Electro Optics (EO) Branch and complete life cycle support of these EO devices from research and development to fielding and sustaining the devices.

Bledsoe served four years as president of the Southern Indiana Section of the American Society of Naval Engineers. Under his leadership, the section was selected as Section of the Year and continually maintained its recognition as a leading recruiting section for the society. Throughout his career, Bledsoe has received numerous awards for his outstanding service and dedication to the Navy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology and a certificate in Public Management from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
