Aerient, LLC Lands Contract with the Department of Homeland Security

Team tapped to provide information technology operations and maintenance support under the EAGLE program

Alexandria, Va. – Feb. 6, 2007 – Aerient, LLC, a joint venture of four small businesses including Avineon, Inc., IntelliDyne, LLC, Homeland IT Infrastructure Services, LLC (a subsidiary of American Operations Corporation) and Appian Corporation, has been selected as a prime contractor under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge (EAGLE) solutions program. Aerient will provide the full range of IT services, technical and management expertise and solution-related enabling products to meet the mission needs of DHS within functional category two, Operations and Maintenance. This contract award allows Aerient to compete on future task order solicitations in the DHS EAGLE Program.

EAGLE is one of two new procurement programs that DHS has established to facilitate the goal of accomplishing one IT infrastructure. It will serve as a Department-wide platform for acquiring IT service solutions in five functional categories. Under functional category two, Aerient will provide solutions, processes and procedures necessary to sustain systems within the DHS at the highest levels of service and availability consistent with cost, schedule and performance objectives. These solutions may be required across the DHS infrastructure to include operational areas such as data center, help desk and field support services, network and security operations and collaboration services. This functional category includes the full range of operations and maintenance solutions, from maintaining and upgrading individual pieces of hardware and software to full managed service solutions.

“Aerient brings a successful history of operations and maintenance for federal government clients, including recent successes at the DHS,” said Debra Wittmer, EAGLE program manager and vice president of the Defense & Homeland Security division for Aerient partner company Avineon. “Members of Aerient were selected based on their record of success delivering IT services to DHS and other federal clients, application of best practices and experience working together in the past to ensure a cohesive, integrated team. By combining the resources of four successful federal government contractors, we have created a small business with the proven experience to support the DHS mission.”

Aerient offers the DHS a complete range of technical specialties, task order management methods and tools and state-of-the-art solutions for life cycle development and support of the department’s IT and telecommunications systems. In addition to operations and maintenance services offered under the DHS EAGLE Program, Aerient’s corporate service capabilities include infrastructure support, engineering design, development, implementation and integration, independent test, validation, verification and evaluation and software development.
