Avineon Formally Expands Its Business Process Management Offerings
Newly constituted BPM practice group will serve civilian, defense and commercial markets
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Jan. 9, 2007 – Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, announced today the formation of a formal Business Process Management (BPM) practice group to focus on the planning, implementation and support of BPM methodology and technology. This practice will help streamline, re-engineer and automate workflows and business processes to assist clients in transitioning and maturing as process-driven organizations. Avineon’s service offerings within BPM include management consulting and the design, development, modeling, automation, measurement and optimization of processes, coupled with software development and integration with other information systems. BPM solutions will provide Avineon’s customers with secure, reliable, scalable and highly collaborative applications to manage business processes within and across organizational boundaries effectively. To lead its BPM practice, Avineon has promoted Anil Jayavarapu to director, business process management practice.
Avineon’s previous BPM experience includes work with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) where the company’s Defense Systems division uses state-of-the-art BPM tools and techniques to assist the NAVSEA, Strike Force Interoperability program in maximizing the efficiency and transparency of its Naval Warfare Systems Certification Process. Avineon helped the defense organization implement lean and six sigma transition in recognizing efficiency from major policy and functional change. Avineon documented and mapped existing Lean Rapid Improvement Event process, conducted performance improvement analysis, designed and documented a re-architected process and is currently implementing this process in a technological framework most appropriate to the Naval Force Interoperability management’s requirements utilizing a commercial off-the-shelf tool. Since the development effort began in June 2006, Avineon has completed the business case modeling and successfully demonstrated a prototype BPM implementation model.
As the primary resource leading Avineon’s BPM practice, Jayavarapu will be responsible for building upon the synergy from ongoing BPM projects and initiatives to broaden Avineon’s BPM offerings and services to customers in civilian, commercial and defense markets. He will also assist in managing Avineon’s relationships and partnerships with software vendors. Avineon has experienced professionals trained in the implementation of BPM technologies such as Appian and Lombardi to help its customers achieve their objectives and maximize return on investment.
Gary Wilkison, vice president of geospatial and engineering services for Avineon, commented, “Avineon has provided BPM service offerings for several years and the demand has increased with both federal and commercial clients, prompting us to form the BPM practice to focus on providing the best service possible to our clients. Anil has extensive experience in the implementation of technology within the utilities vertical which will prove extremely valuable to our commercial clients.”
Jayavarapu has more than twelve years of experience in the management, development, implementation and support of technology solutions. He is experienced in the implementation of BPM methodology and technology and is well versed with client-server applications and web applications using .Net and J2EE technologies. His technical experience spans through the full lifecycle including project management, requirements analysis, business analysis, business process modeling, system architecture, system design, data modeling, database design, data conversion, quality assurance, system maintenance, training and technical support along with the development, configuration, customization and testing of software applications.
“BPM has become an important service offering as companies realize the benefit it brings in offering continuous process improvement, rapid results, visibility and control,” said Jayavarapu. “I’m excited to play a role in Avineon’s efforts to deploy BPM solutions that fully integrate with existing IT environments, are built on industry standards and incorporate service oriented architecture technology, providing a solution ready to grow with and contribute toward the success of our customers.”
