Avineon Wins Harris’ Supplier Excellence Small Business Supplier of the Year Award

Clearwater, FL (May 10, 2005): Avineon, Inc. announced today that it received the Supplier Excellence Small Business Supplier of the Year award for 2004 from Harris Corporation’s Government Communications Systems Division.

Avineon operates a remote processing center in support of Harris’ contract with U.S. Census Bureau for the Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing Accuracy Improvement Project (MAF/TIGER Accuracy Improvement Project or MTAIP). Avineon’s primary role is realignment of existing TIGER data to an improvement reference created from various sources that meet the accuracy requirements of the Project. These sources may be augmented by digital ortho quarter quad imagery to create an updated and more spatially accurate Geographic Information System (GIS). Once realigned, the GIS data will enable Census Bureau field personnel to use the Global Positioning System to locate streets and addresses during the 2010 census and beyond.

Avineon’s performance on the project to date has consistently fulfilled the requirements of Harris and the Census Bureau, with an accuracy rate of over ninety-eight percent. One hundred percent of the deliveries have been made on or before the scheduled date.

Harris acknowledged Avineon’s achievement at the Small Business Procurement Awards and Supplier Recognition event held in April at Harris’ Florida campus. Mr. Karlu Rambhala, President and CEO of Avineon, accepted the award on behalf of the company. “This achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of our established project management systems and our ability to process large volumes of geospatial data,” said Mr. Rambhala. “Our highly trained and experienced GIS staff is to be commended for a job well done on this important project.”
