Avineon Hires Debra Wittmer as Vice President - Defense Systems

Alexandria, VA (July 13, 2005): Avineon, Inc., a successful technology services company with more than 13 years experience in providing information technology, geospatial, and engineering solutions to the federal government, is pleased to announce that Ms. Debra Wittmer has joined the company as Vice President - Defense Systems.

Ms. Wittmer brings 20 years of U.S. Naval civil service experience including warfare systems engineering and acquisition management for major combat software systems. She has a strong systems development, management, and leadership background with unprecedented success in deploying certified, combat-ready Naval systems. Her responsibilities will include oversight of all contracts, projects, and personnel associated with Avineon’s Department of Defense customers. Ms. Wittmer will also lead Avineon’s business development efforts for innovative tactical and non-tactical multi-mission and secure warfighting IT services.

A native of Indiana, Ms. Wittmer began her career in 1985 at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. In 1996, she joined the Naval Sea Systems Command, Program Executive Office for Theater Air Defense (now known as the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems). Ms. Wittmer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Software Architecture from Indiana University and is a graduate of the Advanced Program Management Course at the Defense Systems Management College in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
