United States Mint awards Avineon General Security Support Services Contract

Alexandria, VA (November 5, 2003): Avineon, Inc., a leading Enterprise IT solutions provider, announced today that the Department of the Treasury, United States Mint (Mint), has awarded the company a multi-year, performance-based contract to provide Information and Network Security Support Services to the Mint CIO's Office of Information Security. The contract has an initial term of one year, with three option years.

The Mint's Office of Information Security is charged with ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all Mint IT systems as well as maintaining compliance with various Federal laws, regulations, and policies relating to information security. Avineon will support these objectives in four key areas: System Security Life Cycle Support, User Provisioning, Systems Operations Oversight, and Infrastructure Support.

Within these areas, Avineon will perform needs analysis, evaluate existing hardware/software, analyze, recommend, and implement information and network security enhancements, develop required documentation, manage IT security configurations, and maintain staff currency in security methodologies.

Avineon's more than 300 staff members provide a broad range of Enterprise IT Support Services to various government agencies and commercial clients.
