City of Naperville, Illinois selects Avineon to migrate its electric facilities GIS data from ArcFM v7.2.1 to an ArcFM v8.2 Geodatabase

Alexandria, VA (December 18, 2002): Avineon, Inc. today announced that it has been selected by the City of Naperville, DPU-Electric to migrate its existing electric facilities GIS data from ArcFM v7.2.1 to an ArcFM v8.2 Geodatabase, as well as performing work order processes so that the data will be current and consistent with the new data model.

Avineon has successfully completed the pilot within six weeks from the starting date of project and is on schedule to complete the full data migration. Avineon is solely responsible for the quality of work performed and for maintaining the project schedule. Avineon is also responsible to ensure that all data delivered to the City meets the City’s data acceptance criteria and will function with the City’s enterprise ArcFM v8.2 GIS.

The City of Naperville, Illinois is a rapidly growing western suburb of Chicago in DuPage and Will counties with approximately 135,000 residents. The City’s GIS is a multi-departmental implementation that was built to not only serve the application requirements of the City’s Electric utility, but also the Water/Wastewater utility and the Departments of Public Works, Development Services, Transportation & Engineering, Fire and Police. The City’s electric service territory, roughly equivalent to the City’s municipal limits, comprises about 37 square miles and includes about 52,000 customers.

Avineon has expanded its capabilities into ArcFM 7.2.1 to ArcFM Energy 8.2, with particular attention to data models, customization and system migration.
